singing Food Glorious Food it was obvious Centennials production of Oliver Twist was to be no slouch Far such a small guy Mark Mjcktcthwaite who played Oliver hud a lot or stage presence Apart from his Please sir more line in tjie first act Oliver was led around with no other lines until a couple or scenes later At that point not only did he prove his acting ability but also his singing qualities with Where is Love which was well received by the audience In fact the whole production was well received and rightly so Music teacher Paul and Lois had been rehearsing with musical since early January Sets were built by shop teacher Stan elaborate backdrops designed and made by art teacher Jean with help from Linda Roe A scene of the old city streets of London was particularly impressive with the old streets and antique looking shops Costumes which were largely made by the students themselves depicted the era well Looking and act the part of orphans they were dressed In tutlcred lorn attire complete with suspenders and even the occasional chimney sweep hat Music was provided by three keyboards percussion and periodical guitar and lute work led by Terry Champ The music complimented the young actors and actresses voices and was never overpowering Mary Lynn McVlttie and his gang which Included Richard Sowery as the Dodger even went as far as to learn some of the
