weekend Dairy Queen rolled over Delrex Smoke Shop and Toole crushed Corrigan Instrument 21 TOOLfcS VS Throughout the league this year there has been talk of the decline O Their wilt and ability to play at a customarily high level were always questioned Well as a surprise to more astute observers lhat redlscovered their prodigiouspowerfortheplayoffs They have every intention of setting a new record of four straight Cups and they took a big step toward that goal Sunday The magnitude of the win becomes better appreciated when you consider their opposition Corrigan Is a good team the best In the East But for this game at least they weren t in the same league as Rick Baldwin was at his uncanny best as he shredded the Corrigan defence with precision passing that would make Joe Montana envious His prime target a or Allan or but Robin Rivers Rivers stole the spotlight from his more illustrious mates to record four and a twopointer James Allan wasn t forgotten He added a pair of majors one on a spectacular 70yard play Steve Peace had a and twopointers were tallied by Bill Hi vers and John Corrigan hit for two TDs in the first hair one by rookie of the year hopeful Hugo and scoring leader Brent Ferguson Mike Pelrce who displayed gazelle like speed through out scored Corrigan only major In the second half added two points with a convert DAIRY QUEEN VS SMOKE SHOP Dairy Queen continued their proficient play by dispatching old nemesis Smoke Shop Their finely tuned offence was complimented by an equally solid defence Dairy Queen charged out to take a first half lead on two TDs by Howie and a third by Ron Bandy and Steve Cross man chalked up twopointers Hulme continued his fine play in the second half with his third TD and Ron also scored majors The shareofthegloryforlhewin had three interceptions by Hulme and Mitch Smokers though twice the of tome of their DQ tormentors could only score half as many points Bruce Carl had two majors and clutch Mikoltet added number to lifetime total Other good Smoker plays were by Terry Diardl who snared a twopointer and Sieve Kamikaze Frost who powered his imposing bulk 60yards through DQ ranks on a klckoff return Smoke Shop promises to be back next year for the 10th anniversary plans in store for the club and weight room facility I d like to form a club executive to review procedures of how is
