though the organizers were still hammering out some of the specifics late last week the Annual Georgetown International Bantam Hockey Tournament la set to gut under way this Saturday at the Alcott Arena Among those specifics were the number of teams that will be com and who those teams will be But tournament chairman Wayne Pries wasnt worried Some of the teams that were coming have advanced to the next round of the playoffs Pries said Thursday So we re Just trying to flnallie the teams But it always seems to como down to the lost week A few years ago we filled the last hole on the Saturday morning the day the tournament started So we re not pushing the panic button yet For one of the few years since It started the International Bantam tournament will be strictly a affair In Ontario the players will be en Joying their March break from school But their American counter parts don t share the same privilege There are no province teams this year Pries says We had talked with two teams from Chicago but Its not a school break for them and the students are into exams They felt it was too far to come unjust for the weekends The Michigan Nationals who won the A Division of the tournament last year and lost In the championship game will not be competing this year either Whitby who are the defending champions were recently eliminated from their playoffs and Pries feels theres a good chance theyll be back to defend their title The team travelling the furthest to take part In the tournament this year will be a squad from Sault Ste Marie the first entry from there in several
