and receive the cheque The Limousine dropped her off again a few hours later at her school Everyone already knew what happened Its amazing how fast news travel I didnt get to tell anyone she said Lizs association for the Ontario New Democratic Party Nichols of Georgetown was voted In as president at the annual meeting March Mrs Nichols has done a little bit of John began canvassing door to door during elections She has been quite active in the behind the scenes workings for the past to years the Georgetown woman said I have been a worker Mrs Nichols said helping out during federal and provincial elections The Nichols have hod an office uv ed during elections in the basement of their home As well Mrs Nichols worked in offices downtown during election campaigns year Mrs Nichols has been lnvolv with volunteer work and work with the St Johns United Church where she Is a member The Georgetown woman has can vassed for charitable organizations such as the Heart Foundation Cancer Society and Red Cross For the last couple of years she has been quite involved with the United Way Originally from Winnipeg Mrs Nichols lived In Etoblcoke for three to four years before settling in Georgetown After finishing high school the Georgetown woman worked until she got married in 1091 and headed east to Ontario Mrs Nichols does not anticipate any changes to the structure of the Halton North provincial riding The fall election was the first time these boundaries were put into ef fect Mrs Nichols said The riding lost territory In and Burlington with the boundary change In the fall election Fern Wolf the candidate Mrs Nichols said came In much stronger In the vote the party was up has done previously Having an office In the basement can get hectic Mrs Nichols said especially when the calls start The Georgetown woman has also gone door to door with candidates and has done whatever is needed during election campaigns During two decades Mrs Nichols has been involved with three federal and three provincial elections But the new party president has no background in politics I am strict a worker she said She became involved with helping the party because the leaders were going out on a limb and Mrs Nichols wanted to give them her support Mrs Nichols felt If she believed In the party I should be a part of it and help out as I can she said I cannot Just sit back and let
