winning two out of three i the second round of the OMHA elimination The old saying that the playoffs are like a new season was never more true than this year for our local Majors During the regular season the and could not find the formula to defeat their rivals to the south although they did manage a pair of ties But when the chips were down our pucksters put it all together to take the series with relative ease Game one of the series was not to the M and Ms as they came out on the losing end of a score The Majors fell victim to some had luck around their own net and despite outplaying their opponents by a wide margin they could not pull out the win The M and jumped into a twogoal lead midway through the first frame as Lewis scored just a minute and a half into the on a fine threeway passing play with Sean Guistlnl and Brad Amato Trevor Elinesky followed up with the second goal of the period with help from Adam Hilts Milton bounced back with a pair of goals to tie the match jit the five minute mark of the second frame but Rob Lang restored the lead on a fine shot from the point late In the period with Adam Hilts earning the assist Despite numerous scoring op portunities in the third period the M and could not find the mark Milton tied the score midway through the final frame and scored the eventual winner just two later In game two the M and Ms hosted Milton and were not kind to their guests as they handed them a loss memory of game one fresh in their minds our lads left nothing to chance as they came to play hockey Milton led off the scoring early in the first but Sean Guistinl nullified that marker two minutes later on a fine pass from Lewis Adam Hagen added a second goal at the midway point of the frame assisted by Hilts and Butt The second period saw the teams trade goals with Shaun Curry scoring for the M and Ms from Lewis and Kozslwka The third frame was all Georgetown as they notched four unanswered goals Adam Hilts scored just seconds into the period assisted by and Duane Lewis found the mark just over a minute later with help from Guistlnl and Mclntyre The M and Ms followed with two more goals from Elinesky assisted by Hilts and Hilts with his second of the match with help from to take the win in easy fashion John tended the nets for the M and Ms and had a strong per formance with a number of dif- ficult stops to make The M and Ms travelled to MUton for the third and final match of the series and came away with a 41 victory and the series With the first period going scoreless the M and Ms went to work late in theisecond with a pair of goals Trevor Elinesky figured in all the scoring and notched his first of three assisted by and Amato at the 1147 Less than a minute later Mitch Butt scored with help from Milton managed a goal early in the third but the M and Ms notch ed two more in the period to take the win The Georgetown goals were both by Trevor EUnesky with assists going to Hilts and Lang John Katsilleris toiled in the cage for Georgetown and turned in another sparkling performance The M and Ms have now gone on to meet Burlington for the Tri- final and the right to repre sent the TriCounty
