and doubles tourney takes place in Scarborough 000 prize money available here There are always tourneys on somewhere some big some not so big and many players travel around from one to another This past weekend saw the beginning of the Legions tourneys leading towards cial and national titles Actons Rod Leech reached the final of the singles with some gutsy performances only to lose on vir tually the last dart to Peter Mills of Cooksville Leech is now one of the better players around this area and has proven himself again and again over the past few years The Georgetown contingent did not fare too well none of us qualifying for the quarter final rounds of singles or doubles Monday evenings Halton divi sion grinds onwards Top team Tune Out I were short by one player and still came through by a large margin over second place before the match McGibbon I Brad Randy Hunt and Paul Kirby recorded singles wins for Kirby a winner without throwing a dart Ian McDonald and Marty Wheeler took a doubles win for the only other points for the visitors A strong performance by the leaders to strengthen their position into a lead OTooles took fair ad vantage to move into second place following their convincing win over McGibbon II Linda Nicholson recorded the only point for the gab in beating Jim Carrick in singles The lads are ahead of McGibbon I by two points at this stage Third Out II were nan ding out a loss to Copper Kettle by a margin of two games Kettle went ahead in singles by and were looking good for a win at this juncture However they were to take only one more game in the match Top individual honors go to Brian Hicks with 180 the max imum score Mind you he did lose his singles game Earl came close with 160 and quite a number of 140s were shot all round the league Wednesdays Industrial league continues with Hustlers and Steep Rock leading their respective divisions Whereas the first division has a 30 point spread between first and second places the
