Corney stole the puck and Pete made no mistake on the breakaway opportunity Pete Mashinter was the star of the game in Oakville as he scored the first three goals Jamie and Chris were in on the first one which was a dou ble as the Local bowlers Master Bowler Andy Parent for the second year in a row led a team of bantam bowlers to the Provincial Finals of the Master- Bantam Championships This time around though instead of besting the nearest opposition by 367 pins the team finished leading by pins Andy Parents bantams were Geoffrey Beauparlant with a score of 559 pins better than his average and Melissa with and a plus 83 The second place was taken by the team of Master Bowler Brent Dance from Acton Only 28 pins behind for third place trophies came the team of Gord Lane bantams Nancy Larocque and Martin Johnston Chris captured the High Triple Flat score trophy along with Tanya Martin for the girls The High Three Pins-Over- Average trophies were taken by Paul Larocque and Monica Beauparlant The High Single POA trophies were awarded to Chris Wilkes and Lynn Dales were two men short at the time Andrew Craig was guilty of goaltending robbery on the shooters and then Pete got his second goal from Keith Hunt Pete scored his third one while down on his knees in front of the net Jamie had been working hard to generate some offence and that paid off as he assisted Pete on that goal to bring the score to Ryan Taylor has been playing good two way hockey and his take charge efforts paid off as he set up Chris Goodhew for a goal Then to finish off the scoring Pete Mashinter worked from behind the net after taking it from Chris and setting up Robbie Pilgrim for the score the Domtar Packaging squad played much of the middle part of the game The Major took con trol of the game with two quick third period goals Jamie Stephenson won a face off and slid the puck to Mark Aldridge who wasted no time in beating the Oakville goaltender Then Duane Erier took the rebound of a Gavin Glaser shot off the backboards and buried a shot Duke Bouskill on a fine pass from Sheppard closed out the Georgetown scor ing Bridge winners Ties were the order of the day as duplicate bridge play at Georgetown Legion on Mar 6 produced a pair of knots George Farrow and Norma Maynard were tied for top spot at the end of the days play while secondplace finisher Mike was sandwiched bet ween a
