Page THE HERALD Wednesday March 15 1989 Entertain Evening promises to be enchanted To beat the band Entertainer Jack came to Georgetown Public Library Sun day to share his music and to teach children to play instruments The Cultural Centre Gallery was filled to the brim with a crowd enjoying Mr Grunskys fun participation music Herald pholo GLT prepares for Jekyll and Hyde By MARY JANE Herald Special Georgetown Little Theatre has been busy since the close of their last production Fred Thury a pro fessional director hired with the assistance of a grant from Theatre Ontario has held auditions and chosen the cast for GLTs next pro duction and Hyde The play is set in London England in 1851 and it is very class- conscious The upper classes are very lofty and the lower classes are at gutter level This stratifica tion of society leads to some of the characters having very funny lines when viewed from a perspec tive The ways and formalities of the times are most clearly reveal ed when characters from the two classes actually nave to speak to one another They are very un comfortable with each other and dont know quite how to behave The cast selected by Mr Thury should well be able to handle the nuance of the period under his ex pert tutelage You will see a blend of familiar and notsofamiliar faces Robert McCarrol whom many of you will remember as Danny in Night Must Fall will be playing Dr Henry with Pattison as Celestine Jekylls uppercrust fiancee Ron Hunt will be Lanyon Celestines uncle and a frequent visitor to Henry Rounding out the abovestairs part of the cast is Byron McKim playing a lawyer and close friend of Jekylls The characters are also well- represented Ashley Windsor will be Poole the very correct butler and Poole will have two maids to cuff around Joann Smith as Charlotte and Mary Jane Walzak as Hilda The lower classes are completed with Vernita Leece por traying Penny Hydes Woman Enjoy the thrills of Jekyll and Hyde opening April and playing
