south and west areas The Region hired International Water Supply Ltd to begin what will be part of a million water project for three wells in Georgetown One well is located at 10th Line north of water for people The Main Street well and the Trafalgar RoadLindsay Court area well will undergo the en vironmental assessment process under the provincial government before the well sites are the province and has done so since Under the new program three courses will be required to obtain a license to sell real estate Phase one will be a twomonth cor respondence course Phases two and three will be a classroom ses sions totalling hours At the end of each phase students will be required to pass an examination before proceeding to the next phase After being licens ed real estate management positions Mr Taylor was particularly con cerned the board might not be able to hire sufficient middle school and high school teachers In these grades teachers not only have to be bilingual but they also have to be specialized in a particular subject area he said Mr Williams told Mr Taylor the program could always be improv ed but he believes the board is pro viding a quality program He said the board successfully filled the available positions for this year Interviewing for the positions started last September and was carried out every week except dur ing Christmas and break he said Mr Williams said the board hired experienced teachers inexperienced teachers and four that were borrowed from other schools The board chairman added pro gram enrolments are currently stable and are projected to remain stable Mr Taylor said after the meeting the director failed to seize the opportunity to invite parents to participate in reassessing this policy He said Mr Williams failed to back up his claim that a childs education depends first and foremost with the parents Trustee Howtt said he supports French immersion programs at the elementary and secondary level but is unsure there are enough qualified teachers especially at the secondary level to offer a quality program Staffing problems at the secon dary level in the past have shown that the program isnt always up to par he said
