Georgetown The couple owned a house on Guelph Street Mayor Miller John Sommer Doug Batten and Roy Burnett Mr Black nephew all described the deceased painter as a great artist with a good sense of humor Mr Black founded the Palett and Pencil Club after retirement He received his art education the Ontano College of Art OCA in Toronto During his lifetime the artist was decorated for acts of braver in the First World War and did some graphic design for newspapers including the Toronto Star This self portrait painted by Frank Black about a year before his death last spring was on display
