Buckton opened the scoring off a pass from Jason Hayes Two minutes later Jason Campbell pop ped one to put Georgetown ahead on a second period power play Georgetown s Daniel Smith scored assisted by winger Mat thew Hotham The Oakville defence couldn t handle the quick Georgetown players and the third period tallied three more goals for Georgetown Derek Buckton scored his second goal of the game assisted by Jason Hayes and Daniel Smith Minutes later Matthew Hotham snapped the puck by the Oakville goalie unassisted Another unassisted goal this time by Mat thew Walmga brought the score to 60 of the six games played between the two leagues since 1986 The QM JHL will certainly be readv to fend our title The Cornwall Royals competed in the for 12 years from 196970 until and have played the last eight seasons in the OHL In their 20year history the Royals have captured three Memorial Cups including back to- back championships and 1981 one of only six teams to do so The Royals have also its entry for the Ontario Hockey League Quebec Major Junior Hockey League All Star Challenge The new format will see a com of three members select the entire team which differs from previous years in which the first 10 skaters and two goaltenders were selected b the general managers of each team by wav of a ballot Subsequentiv the coach of the team was able to name the re eight skaters The selection committee will be composed of Dick Todd coach of the Peterborough Petes who will be the coach of the all star team as a result of his Petes being ding league champions Sam general manager of the Sudburj Wolves and Dave Draper general manager of The Dukes of Hamilton In making the announcement David E Branch commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League pointed out that this process will allow the committee to select a team which il sincerelv feels will have the best chance of beating the QMJHL All Stars In the past some players who might have been able to contribute were left off because they did not receive enough votes This year we will ice the best possible team Branch noted that all OHL member teams supported the change Everyone across the league realized that we had some difficulties with the old system and they were very supportive in let ting this committee pick the entire team The OHL is hoping this move wilt change its fortunes as it has lost five out of the six
