HYUNDAI OWNERS For Service Call 8731818 The governors in reviewing the three expansion applications one from each of Detroit Mich and and Guelph Ontario ac cepted the recommendation that a one team expansion was the most businesslike and responsible ap proach that the league could make at this time The report was sensitive to a number of areas including concern over whether the existing player talent pool could handle expansion of more than one team at this time In addition league attendance which has been on an in recent years due to consistency in rivalries structure of games and playoff scheduling also contributed to the recommendation Another consideration was sensitivity to the NHL expansion plans whereby the OHL would gauge the ultimate affect on the OHL player talent pool Bodanis Bruins extend streak The Georgetown Major Bodanis Brums returned to action in Flamboro Sunday and showed the effects of a twoweek layoff In a scrambly contest the Major scored a 62 victory over their hosts stretching streak to seven Chad Hughei was outstanding in the Bodanis Bruins net as third period penalties left Georgetown much of the time The offence was keyed Doug Sheppard who recorded two goals and an assist and Jim Katsihens who notched two markers Mark Aldndge and Stephen Onoprijenko each scored a goal Stephen earned two assists while single helpers were added by Duane Erler Gavin Glaser and Jamie Stephenson The Bodanis Brums have only three games remaining in their County schedule and with am pie practice time coming up The Tn County championship drive now begins Georgetown realignment since the 198182 season when Belleville and Cornwall were ad mitted To balance the two sions at eight teams each North Bay Centennials and Sudbury Wolves move to the Divi sion and the Dukes of Hamilton shift to the Emms Division The length of schedule will re main at games and the playoff structure will remain the same for a fourth consecutive year in the 199091 season with the top six teams in each division making the playoffs The structure of games for a schedule will see each team playing teams within its down division six times three home and three away for games and a home and away crossover with the other division for games The remaining eight games would be scheduled as a double home and away series against each team s closest rival and an additional away series with two secondary rivals League Commissioner David Branch stated Detroit s successful application was based on a number of factors Detroit s metropolitan market is idealh suited to the marketing and
