New building should be ready for fall fair THE HERALD OUTLOOK Saturday February 1990 Pages Scouts visit northern Canada right here in Hills An additional agricultural building on the Georgetown Fairgrounds property will allow the Georgetown Agricultural Society to host more agricultural exhibitions than previous years says the society secretary treasurer Bob The society already owns a building on the property and the proposed galvanized steel sided barn would be attached to this building said Mr To increase the number of ex hibitions during the Fall Fair he said the society needs an tional building that can be locked to secure the displays overnight A tent therefore would be inap propriate he explained The town approved the construe tion of the building subject to a site plan review at Monday council meeting The town also approved that the building fee of for the proposed building be waived The society is currently a submission for the town site plan committee that will be ready in two or three weeks Mr said He is optimistic the committee will give the goahead for construe tion to begin this spring so that the building will be ready for this years fall fair Horticultural society meets in Acton Once again the Horticultural Society and the Acton Business Improvement Association are making plans to beautify Acton this summer with flowers in hanging baskets street planters and flower boxes The Society hopes that citizens of the com munity will cooperate in this ef fort to improve the appearance of the town How many wild flowers do you know To learn more
