REGISTRATION MARCH 21st Centennial School 630830 pm Rebel ski team hits the heights By COLIN GIBSON Herald Sports Georgetown District High School Rebels senior boys Nordic crosscountry ski team returned home from the provincial in terscholastic twoday competition staged in Sudbury last Monday and Tuesday with no medals to show for their collective rigors but rather with the self satisfaction of knowing they accomplished the team goal the members had established at the start of the season Namely be competitive with the top high school teams in the province Last year the Rebels Nordic ski team returned from OFSAA com petition having finished near the bottom of the ladder of competing teams This years competition was a different matter however as in the individual competition staged Monday over an 8 2 km course the Rebels finished 18th out of 28 On tario schools On Tuesday the Rebels com in the threeman relay event over a 52 km course and placed 16th out of teams for an overall placing of 17th in the province Rebel coach John Moore was pleased with his team improved showing We developed into a very com team this year pointed out Moore and also you must remember that there is very little time difference between say a 16th placing and a first place placing and as well the boys were going up against some highly regarded competitors who will likely be either provincial or national team members in the near future The 16th place Rebel finish in the relay event was garnered by Tim Parker Dwight Spence and Kevin Schneider Rounding out the team were Scott Symmes and Eran An In the individual senior boys race staged Monday Spence placed th Tim Parker placed Kevin Schneider ed Scott Symmes placed and Eran Andrechek finished in a field of competitors It will be a rebuilding
