Nature blessed the village with some weather this past weekend which added to the success of the Mixed Tour nament Eight teams competed for prize money and trophies One of the highlights of the tournament was when the two Ballinafad hometown teams made up of locals played against each other It was a fun game each wanting to beat the other team Fans were torn as to who to cheer for The Jim afternoon to watch the two games Twin Cee and the Jim Dandies will have their names put on the corresponding trophies which will be displayed at the com munity center It was a full weekend of work for the Hall Board who could not have managed without the help of some wonderful people such as Linda and Marg Barne who were the official scorekeepers Jim Bailey spent a tremendous amount of time organizing the tournament which meant soliciting teams making up the schedules printing up applications and and overseeing the games themselves Marlene Burnett Jennifer and Mike Buckley Alan were an immense help as they cooked the hamburgers and and lots of odd jobs Hank Burnett and Bruno Camelos were irreplaceable as bartenders Numerous volunteers umpired the baseball games Many were delighted at the Grand Slam Dance when J George and S and S Sound provided the crowd with lights complete with a dry ice mist effect The music was varied to accommodate the different age groups attending All were number one hits with the dancers The Hall Board wishes to thank everyone for their support The Jim Dandier came up with a loss last week when Random Car Club beat them by one run Cindy Cee hit a lovely home run Vera and Sandra Pride were the pitchers for the game A couple of run away innings was the of the Jim Dandies who could not get the bats going to get the runs back DENTURE THERAPY
