of the Canadian Recrea tional Canoeing Association took the first paddle stroke to begin a solo canoe journey for the environ It will cover approximately 1500 kilometers and bring him back to the foot of the Parliament buildings about four weeks later The July I starting date was ap propriate since the theme of Canada Day was The En The main reason for Max s canoe trip is to raise of the environmental and heritage values of waterways and to let people know how they tan contribute to healthier water ecosystems We have to protect our water ways Max stressed They are a significant part
