Christopher failed to stop at an intersection stop sign Christopher sustained multiple internal injuries No charges were laid by police Georgetown Little Theatre to hold benefit nights The Georgetown Little Theatre is offering a way for local groups and organizations to raise funds the theatre publicity spokesper son Shiona Watson indicated in a press release If a group agrees to cover the ex penses of the first performance of a show any profits made from the performance will go directly to the sponsoring group according to Ms Watson This performance is called Benefit Night It happens on the first Thursday performance of show said Ms Watson It is real ly the last dress rehearsal for the cast and crew she noted The Georgetown Choral Society will be hosting the October benefit night for the theatre pro duction of An Act of the Imagina tion said Ms Watson The official run is from 19 to Oct But Ms Watson explained the theatre still needs benefit night hosts for productions scheduled to run at the end of February and at the end of April Meanwhile Georgetown Little Theatre said Ms Watson is sell ing theatre subscriptions Only a small portion of last year s subscriptions have been renewed she said Subscription prices are as follows A single subscription is a double subscription 15 and a family subscription is Subscriptions of are being of fered to students and senior citizens on the first Friday Wednesday and Thursday of each show For those who want to do more than just attend a Georgetown Lit tie Theatre production they can of fer their services to the theatre in one of Georgetown 8732996 Youngster called lucky boy after collision with truck By LISA The Herald Police say nine year old Christopher Armstrong of 18 Mullen Place Georgetown is a lucky boy Saturday afternoon Christopher was riding his cousin s bicycle through an intersection at Joseph and Charles Street dunng heavy rainfall and rode through a stop sign Not noticing a red Chevrolet Blazer travelling west on Joseph Street until it was too late Christopher collided with the truck and was thrown off his bike No charges were laid as a result of the accident Christopher s cousin Charles Simpson said Christopher was thrown after the collision but sat up and began walking around the intersection holding his side All Christopher can recall of the accident was a big red thing and lifting his arms up in a sweep ing motion he imitated the noise of an explosion The next thing I in a police car he told the Herald in an interview Monday Charles who saw the truck com ing remember s screaming to Chnstopher to stop but could not make himself heard After the inci dent Charles was so terrified that he dropped his bike and ran home to tell Chnstopher s grandparents who were babysitting him for a few days So scared in fact he did not even think to the bike to Christopher s grandparents he just ran Police drove Christopher to Georgetown and District Memonal Hospital where hospital staff monitored him closely until early Monday morning when he left for home They couldn believe his legs t broken with the number of bruises on his legs and hips said Chnstopher mother Linda They were going to transport him to Toronto Sick Children Hospital she said They were concerned because he said his legs were numb said Mrs Armstrong Chnstopher who has sustained multiple internal injuries said he is in no pain and is determined to go to his soccer game However his mother said if he goes at all he will stay in his chair The Georgetown man who was driving the red Chevrolet Blazer has been in contact with the Arm strong family to check on Christopher s condition He told me he was never so glad to see so meone sit up and open his eyes before Mrs Armstrong said Knowing the driver was in no way at fault Mrs Armstrong thanked him for his concern The driver could not be reached for comment Police say Chnstopher is lucky because the dnver was doing less than half the posted
