acres in Georgetown The tour began with a slide presentation of operations at Bethel as well as on the the Bible Tract owns We toured the factory which is a complete printing operation from A to Z in languages Then our guide took us through an underground tunnel to the live- in quarters complete with apart ments library laundry facilities and a restaurant We then returned to the home of Gladys Chester where President Jean May conducted a short business meeting An invitation for two of our members to attend Nelson W Anniversary has been ed Gladys Chester and Laila Smith thanked everyone for participating in their birthday celebrations Next meeting is at the home of Gisela Oct at 7 30 p Janet Johnson will speak about teaching nalive Indians Visitors are welcome Birthday Congratulations to Margaret Russell of Norval who celebrated her 87th birthday Sept with a family dinner at the home of her nephew and family Robert Russell and her niece Beverley Burton and her family both of Toronto A Walter and Lilliam Oakley Fisher of Ed monton Corn competition Harry of R R won the field crop competition for the second consecutive year at the Brampton Fair this past weekend He also placed 1th on the corn stalks and cobs and placed third in the round hay bale class Rally Day observed Both Norval Presbyterian and United Churches observed Rally Day at the Sunday morning vice Rev Walter conducted the service at United and called on Superintendent Linda Howse to introduce the teachers including Maureen Wilson Beth Lajdlaw Mary Anne Fran Herbert and Bonnie Rev read a Litany of the Ten Commandments assisted b Dorothy McLean The sermon was on The Debtors Prison followed by the hymn Make Me a Captive Lord Friends saddened Georgetown and Norval area people were saddened to learn of the passing of Lloyd Cnchton of R 2 in his 74th year Beloved husband of Jean Dick and son of the late James and Isabella Chnchton of Snelgrove Loved brother of Margaret Mrs Arthur of Etobicoke and the late Graham and Andrew Cnchton loved brother inlaw of Eva and Frances Funeral service was from the J S Jones and Son Funeral Home Georgetown at 7 p Sept 16 following visitation from pm until time of service Cremation Best wishes Best wishes go to two young ladies Angela Leslie R Georgetown Peel Countys Queen of the Furrow as well as to Sandra Egger of Milton R who is representing Halton as their Queen of the Furrow at the International Plowing Match at Pans in Brant County from Sept 1822 Both young ladies are two of Queens who will take part competitions Wednesday they test their skill in plowing and Thursday they have interviews the morning and give a two to three minute speech at l m from the official plat form The winner will be announced at a Queen Banquet in the evening The theme
