their Burlington rivals On the American Thanksgiving weekend Nov 23 Halton beat the hometown favorites Buffalo in the championship game This was the squads first title in only their second tourna ment the first game of the tourna ment the good guys in white took it to the bad guys Niagara Falls Thunder in black beating them 41 later met in the elimination draw which they beat 21 in a tight checking game drew first flood which held until Jeff popped in the tying goal with assists going to Bertoli and Loader winning goal came in the last half of the third period scored by Bertoli Sandy David son and Tim Diardichuk drew the assists on the goal walked through their next game drubbing West Seneca Loader led the way with two goals and two assists followed by Philip Sanderson with two goals and one assist In the championship game against Jeff Haydar scored the first goal Regals stormed back to take a 21 lead ging into the third period but goals from Macintosh and Paul Sandifer proved to be enough to clinch the victory Back in league play Halton defeated Burlington earning their first win over that team in five tries Hurricanes managed one loss amongst the victories Nov 22 getting beat by Brampton in a penaltyfilled game Hurricanes got things back on track Nov 27 nipping Brampton in a rematch With Haltons couch and half the Brampton staff sitting out suspensions from the previous Club in Kitchener Ontario this past weekend She entered the tournament seeded fifth and en route to the final defeated both the first and fourth seeded players Jans defeated her opponent Tara Sharpe of Peterborough 79 90 95 and in the final match The event was also a selection tournament for the Womens Pro vincial Team which will par ticipate in the Canadian Team Championships to be held in old this year has played both lacrosse and hockey for two full seasons with most of them also attending the same school St Josephs So far the team is unbeaten in hockey having played 20 games and taking two tournament championships Coach Mitch Lajeunesse said playing together for so long has definitely given them an ad vantage over their opponents Playing lacrosse has given them the aggressiveness for full contact hockey These kids go after the puck into the corners everywhere Their handeye coordination is also belter since its a big part of lacrosse i- i lealhcrtn a team In-
