projects may be funded under the new program because as far as the CVCA is concerned they meet the criteria In other words they can be initiated within the next six months they are labor intensive Mr Owen however was unable to say when the authority would know one way or another if the provincial money will be for thcoming The combined cost of the pro grams is just over ac cording to a CVCA report The CVCA wants close to from the province to go ahead with the projects the report in dicates The remaining sum will come from the conservation authoritys general levy Mr Owen explained the ex pected regular provincial funding wont be enough to cover these projects In the past years the province has only increased Its funding to the provinces authorities by approximately four per cent or a little less than the rate of inflation The amount each authority in Ontario receives yearly from the province to fund particular pro jects is based on the relative im portance of each project in com parison to other projects propos ed by the various conservation authorities Mr Owen predicted none of the five CVCA projects would be deemed a high enough priority by th province to receive regular provincial
