Georgetown Little Theatre With Neville directing and Dorothy producing the for thcoming drama Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff which opens Feb 22nd should prove highly entertaining Dorothy said she and Neville have an excellent working part and she is enjoying the challenge of Something Dif ferent Co ordination the backstage team is always a task requiring plenty of effort but especially for this one as special props and furniture must be found Dorothy says it is getting harder to find volunteers as peo ple are so busy with other com Dorothy had special praise for Norm Holt from Oxbow Books Main St Georgetown who has been enthusiastically involved discover boods for the set Neville voiced his feelings on working with Dorothy and said that after 10 years they had con up some ESP Knowing one another so well allows for ex cellent communication and the surety that everything will be done as necessary Neville loves the senpt for the play so much that he actually in Samuel French this play is going to be the War Amps of Canada present free films The War Amputations of Canada has just released Nakiska Plus Three the fourth and final production in the Association s acclaimed Nakiska film series The film features Chris Koch CHAMP Ambassador at Large of the Association s Child Amputee Pro gram The new half hour tion will appear on cable and television stations across Canada and is dedicated to those Cana dian athletes who will be com in the 1992 Winter pics in France In the film War Amps Chief Executive Cliff and Champ Chris Koch team up on the ski slopes of Alberta Rocky Mountains Chris a quadruple amputee has learned to ski on his artificial legs and eagerly takes up the chief executive s challenge to learn The film features four segments NonStop from the Top Snowboarder Extraor ski and Three or Prosthesis In NonStop from the Top Chns and Cliff ski non stop from the top of the hill each using their unique techni ques Cliff a leg amputee from World War describes how knee surgery and special equipment have enabled him to takeup the sport of downhill skiing In Snowboarder Extraor dinaire Chris learns to snowboard with the help of his dad Bruce The icy conditions make snowboarding quite a challenge but Chris overcomes the difficult conditions to master the board In Apres ski Chris demonstrates the special tificial limbs he used for his favourite hobbies limbs provid ed by The War Amps CHAMP Program He plays the autoharp using two artificial arms th specially designed attachments for strumming and keying The fourth and final segment Irak Three or Prosthesis shows how leg amputees can choose from various equipment and sk ing styles Champ Ian KING PIZZA SUBMARINE SUM Hansen a right below knee leg amputee can ski one of two ways with and without the use of an tificial leg When Ian skis without his recreational ski leg he used the Three method ski poles fitted with tiny skis on the hot torn thereby using three skis in stead of just one which increases stability and maneuverability Nakiska Plus Three illustrates the CHAMP program Win ner Circle philosophy The War Amps is a strong believer in recreational sports for amputees Through films clinics and seminars the Association en courages Champs to pursue the activities of their choice It then provides the specially designed sports limbs so that the Champs can participate comfortably and safely The War Amps receives no government assistance fun ding for its programs is made possible through the public sup port of the Association s Key Tag and Address Label Service The
