season scored times while giving up only goals in 16 Head coach Scott Van Valks team emphasized effec tive defense with quick transi tions to a potent attack was supported by two strong goalies Dylan Le and Mark who were also ef fective when playing out blocked countless opposition rushes on defense while Lee con tributed points in the six games he played as a forward While the effi ciently smothered opposition at tacks they also set up numerous goals from the point Offensively Hortons were led by Josh Malinosky a big centre with the ability to dominate a game led the league in scoring with 30 goals and assists for points Wingers John Howell with 10 goals and 17 assists and Freddy with 9 goals and assists were also big offensive threats The other forwards Andrew Boyce Bryan Foster and Peter were also dangerous For five of the players on the team Howell Deeley Noonan and Lee the undefeated season was par ticularly sweet as they played together on last seasons Youngs Pharmacy Novice team also coached by Van De Valk which also went undefeated for the season and then the playoffs For goalie Lee this makes three seasons in a row without a loss since he played for the Novice champion M and M Pro Sports in 8889 Having played behind three excellent defensive teams he now has a career record of 39 wins 5 ties losses and 15 shutouts Much of the reason for success is credited to a hard working group of young coaches Van De Valk Bob Craig Lahey and Jim English whose enthusiasm for hockey and commitment to games and numerous practices has helped develop the team hopes to
