the Swimmers squad by a count The Lopers was in contention for five ends but a disastrous sixth finished them off The Dunlop is hoping for two more steady performances to stay on top However the They were matched this week with La Guys La Guys started smartly building a 40 lead after three ends But Scott Russells crew were not about to lay down After the next four ends the score was tied 55 and momentum but not last shot was with the Eight Bury one for the steal was the task at hand and that was what Russells mates were able to do They took the point in the eighth and a win Another team showing signs of getting hot is JAWS Without the Jones these past two weeks Dave Ashbee has captained his troops to victory This week it was an upset of the Hog Liners A big start and a big finish and a lot of luck on this St Day theme night were major contributing factors Big ends were the sole reason for two other wins as well In the match up of The Senators and the Challengers the latter nnk took five ends all for single points However in the two ends which were lost the Barber side gave up a total of seven points The Senators then stole the win by a 5 tally In the game between Bill Smith Auto Wmgnuts and Kendale Hackers the Hackers also cap tured five ends and the loss They gave up two three pointers and a single to their BUI Smith led op ponents The final count registered 7 for the local auto parts retailer Completing the slate of games for this week Steve Foster and his Automatons overpowered the Dead by an impressive 103 score And The Norvat Boys with second year curler Ian Ar Hackers The Automatons Senators Novice house league Season ends f or M M team With the novice house league playoffs almost over the regular seasons first place finishers M and M Pro Sports ended hopes of a tnp to the finals with another loss last weekend and ended the regular season with a record of wins three losses and two ties for a total of points Since then the team has been flat losing their first three playoff games although game two was followed with some controversy when an illegal line change with 1 re maining ended M and chances of a possible win or tie At least one of the teams three coaches said his team was ped off when after four regular season games had passed the convenor decided and M had to give up one of the teams three top players even though with three weeks of evaluation every coach had a fair chance to see most players in order to make the draft and the teams fair Throughout these incidents Matt Travers had an outstanding rookie season between the pipes sporting a record with a 3 goals against average Leading the way offensively was Jeff Maclntyre with goals assists for points Ron Dillabough was a close second with 41 points and Jesse Viens and Michael Noonan ended with 24 and 23 points respectively Throughout the season M and was also fairly sound defensively with Chns Kirk and Luke Pak- anchoring the defense M and rookie coaches Jerry Saunders Mike Hancock and Shawn Kelman all had nothing but compliments for their players and enjoyed working with them all The coaches would also like to wish their players luck in the future and
