Kings predicted to take home Stanley Cup With the start of the National Hockey League playoffs it s once again time for sports writers the world over to make their loity predictions Of course come June it will be time for most of us to stop shaking our heads in disbelief Adams Division Boston opened post season play against Hartford who spent most of the season trying to catch so tbey wouldn have to play the Bruins in the first round Hartford wont be advancing Who have tbey got They traded their best player Ron Francis and got almost nothing in return Boston all this slonal opponents and were second only to Montreal in goals against Hartford were just ahead of Quebec in scoring and goals against The Buffalo television sport scasters are blatant their sup port of the Sabres and always predict they re going to do bet this year Hah I respect their biased opinions so little that I always predict the opposite and usually am right A lot of people are picking Boston to go all the way but I going out on a bit of a limb and say will take this division in six or seven games Patrick Division Pittsburgh is definitely going all the way to win this division After never finishing first in team history Penguins have the players and the desire to come out on top Risky Business Rangers are still in a season en ding slump which will continue through the playoffs New Jersey and Washington have always grinded their way through this division and will again be too pooped to put up much of a fight Norris Division Without the Leafs in there to go wild like they usually do when they qualify for post season play and eliminate the first place team a semi final showdown bet ween St Louis and Chicago is in evitable Blues have Brett Hull and Adam but once you get past that line you don t have much Chicago is going to put up a hell of a fight for the Campbell Conference title with a for lineup of scorers but more importantly the best goals against numbers in the league Division I was lucky enough to live in Edmonton during the height of Oilers power and just remember ing the announcer saying Gret to Kurri to Messier back to Coffey at the point you just knew there was chaos in the other team send However those days are gone with leading a new crop of hungry hockey players Being an Oiler fan I dedicated to the perpetual downfall of Calgary Flames so predicting an Oilers Kings showdown with LA havingtheedge Once past the Smythe Division Kings should be able to handle Chicago Montreal is likely to be Canada s last hope of keeping the Stanley Cup north of the border but I believe Kings are likely to have the bigger thirst for the 1991 vintage champagne Georgetown Rebels continue to succeed Georgetown District High School Rebels wrestling and bad teams continued their
