than has already been given towards the residents quest to find alter native living arrangements when be addressed Town General Com mittee Tuesday General Committee is compris ed of Town Councillors The Willow Park residents must vacate their mobile home park by May because the land has been expropriated by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority Mr Smith told coun cillors there is only three more weeks left and the residents have no place to go Coun Joe Hewitt told Mr Smith the vacancy deadline is a legal matter and therefore cant be talked about in a public forum The councillor was referring to the fact that the CVCA is now con the legal implications of extending the vacancy deadline to Aug 15 The CVCA will allow the extension for those residents who first agree to three posed conditions The residents refuse to accept these conditions calling them a threat The authority is currently con sideling a request from the pro vince to allow the extension free of any conditions Town planner Ian Keith told councillors his department has yet to receive an application that would be suitable for the residents mobile homes Permit fee discussed Halton Hills Mayor Miller ex pressed hope Tuesday there was a way the Town could reduce the permit fee a local resident is being charged for a temporary mobile home The mobile home is located at Highway and Fifth Line The resident Christine Kn told coun cillors when she first obtained the permit three years ago the cost was She didnt understand therefore how the reissuing of the permit would now cost so much more Town Planner Ian Keith told councillors the related provincial legislation has changed since then allowing municipalities to charge permit fees that closer reflect the cost to the Town issu ing them Before issuing a permit fee the Town is required by law to follow certain procedures in cluding advertising the applica tion hi the local media That cost alone ia over said Mr Keith Council directed staff to pro vide the exact cost of processing the permit before deciding if a permit fee reduction is con sidered Bylaw amendment discussed Only two people raised con cerns Tuesday during a public meeting over an application to obtain a Town Official Plan and zoning bylaw amendment to per mit a variety commercial and recreational uses on property in the area of the Tenth Line and Regional Road The property is currently zoned industrial The recreational and comrner cial uses include a driving range mini putt course batting cage video store retail sales bake shop and restaurant Nearby residents Peter and Helena said they werent necessarily opposed to the application but they would be if a gocart track was to be established on site Town Planner Glen told the public meeting the applicant has never proposed a gocart track Town planning staff will now write a report incorporating the public comments and then report back to council Sign bylaw questioned Halton Hills General Commit tee recommended Tuesday that a committee be e com prised of business represen tatives councillors and Town staff to review the Town sign bylaw as it pertains to where businesses and others can locate them on their decision Committee deferred the item to this Mondays council meeting Provincial review The concerns raised by local residents over the Towns plan to expand Maple Avenue in Georgetown are now before the provinces Ministry of Environ ment for consideration Town Engineer Bob Austin told General Committee Tuesday The province will review the environmental study the Town conducted for the project and then advise Engineering staff what if any more steps need to be taken for the project to pro ceed explained Mr Austin Site plan released Hills Mayor Miller told councillors Tuesday the Town should receive a copy of United Aggregates updated site plan or the Acton quarry within three weeks In recent weeks the Town has complained to the province that it was being denied the right to ex amine and
