About minutes later we arrived at Harriston Branch President Gary MacDougal Past President Laurens Beukema and Ron Storms Coor dinator Memorabilia Room met us at the door presenting each one of us the Boer War and WW2 Well worth a visit After light lunch courtesy of the Ladies Auxiliary our allot ted time being up we entered our bus and we were off to the next stop Our Bus Operator Yvonne was presented with a Legion Shirt bright yellow Legion Logo on it so she would be easy to find Wilfred Kidney Treasurer and Past President made us welcome as we stepped into Branch Arthur We had the pleasure of chatting with Presi dent Nancy Williams Associate Service Officer Margaret Atkinson Norm Woods Treasurer and Don na Wood PHO Ates Arthur has a Ladies Auxiliary no longer President Nancy and some Branch members served trays of finger foods to all present Even though Arthur has a small membership 210 our welcome was large and very wanning Time once again passed quickly and we left with a friendly hand shake and a Visitors Ribbon as a memento of our visit to Arthur Branch 229 situated at Metcalfe St in the heart of the town of Elora famous for its Gorge and boutiques was our next bus stop We met Youth and Education Chairman Jim Bamett Jr 2nd Vice President Neil and on our tour of the Branch saw Marg Richardson Dorothy Young Millie Rodgers ail Ladies Auxiliary members working away in their lovely kit chen with the welcome help of Lome Halls and Tony Noonan This Branch has a membership of 723 members and is very active with not only their Seniors but sports entertainment and family fun events A light repast was available courtesy of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed by all In the lounge we were treated to some live entertainment a piano player a Banjo player provided a singa long Our tour guide Dave in formed us it was time to go Jim Bamett and Neil provided a Visitors Ribbon and a pin for Branch 120 members who will take home many pleasant memories of our stay at Elora Branch Our last stop was at Fergus Branch 275 where Marg McKen- na Secretary greeted us Of in terest to all ex Naval Personnel was Fergus Memorabilia cor ner It was devoted to Naval pla ques and ships crests In a glass enclosed case there was rem nants of bottle and ribbons that christened the ship HMCS Fergus dated August 3044 The following words were in memory of all our fallen comrades Country Freedom Humanity in memory of our comrades who made the enternal sacrifice for our freedom that through faith in God Trust in fellow Man and service to our country we will attain peace and a bet ter world Branch Tshirts were presented on behalf of Branch to representatives of the Har riston Arthur and Fergus Branches On behalf of Branch 120 I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Gary Nan cy Williams Jim Bamett and for the warm and kind hospitality show to your comrades and fellow Legionaires An open invitation to all to come and visit Branch is extended A MiniMeat Draw was
