had a very busy time in the last two weeks On May 30 Ballinafad Branch assisted by Branch cohosted the Annual meeting of the ll branches of Halton District Women s In There were ladies pre sent in Ballinafad Church Registration was at 2 with an interesting meeting of Con venor s reports on the work of these groups There was also a satisfying financial report The Provincial Board Member Mrs of Dublin Branch and her assistant Mrs Dons Lindsay of Silverwood brought reports from the Provincial level The theme of this meeting was May I present change and they informed us of many changes to meet the times that are being planned After a delicious hot beef supper served by the Ballinafad Church Women the evening session began with solos by Alison Arsenault church choir director The election of of for the next year and final business was earned out Provincial President Mrs Peggy spoke on the meeting s theme On Wednesday June the Branch held their June meeting as is their custom in the form of an all day outing This year we visited with a former member Miss Stella Cum ming who has moved to a new home in We travelled by car arriving about 11 am and after admiring the new home a short meeting was held Ten members answered the Roll Call on What are you doing to help the future Two members of the future generation were with us Kelly and Colleen After the usual minutes finan cial report and correspondence was dealt with the report of the Workshop at the Agricultural Museum for the purpose of ing for I hostesses to help for the summer There were about GO members present Plans were discussed for the August quilt display A discussion on a report of forty five resolutions that the W I has been responsible for lob bying the government and get ting legislation results over the years Such items were grading the poultry and meat over the counter wrapping of bread car insurance stop signs and many more things that makes one proud of I After the close of the meeting a delicious potluck lunch was serv ed The afternoon was spent in the beautiful greenhouses at Chinguacousy Park and also a visit to Sara Lee Bakenes There will be no meeting July or August The Jim Dandies came up with another win last week The ladies played a good strong game equal inhitting Hospital anniversary Georgetown and District Memonal Hospital will celebrate its 3oth anniversary with two Benefit shows on June 21st and 22nd at the John Elliott Theatre A community open house to be held June 23rd from I to m in the Hospital courtyard will feature music enter tainment clowns facepainting child safety
