severance by neighboring residents In supporting the severance the OMB overturned an earlier deci sion by Region Land Dm sion Committee opposing the severance application Located on the property Is an historic twostorey house and an A frame house The severance calls for the property to be severed to create two different properties The result calls for the historic property to be located on a piece of property imately 115 feet by 90 feet According to the OMB decision several residents opposed the ap plication because the severed property would be too small for the size of the histonc house The residents felt this large histonc house would look more appropriate on a large lot cording to OMB decision The decision author Donald Middlebm writes in addition the concens for the character of the area a number of the residents expressed a concern that the reduction lot size for this big house might have the ef feet of reducing the value of the property if it was put on a smaller lot and that the reduction of value would reflect itself on adjacent properties Finally Mr wrote there was also a concern that granting the severance could set a precedent allowing for ther in tensification which might also change the character of the area Despite the concerns Mr Mid dleton agreed with the assess of the proposal by Town planner Glen Wellmgs who calls the severance minor nature and therefore
