Friday night against Rockwood Harry Brown Ex were able to come from behind in a tension filled vie In a rain delayed gome against Cheltenham Saturday morning scored nine against Cheltenham four moving on to the championship round Cheltenham rallied with a 7 win forcing a playoff game In the final game Harry Brown Excavating after falling behind the first inning came on strong to score four in the fifth and one in the sixth beating Cheltenham and winning a hard fought tournament 63 justifying its first place standing in the league and repeating as cham pions Through the tournament there were Novice Lacrosse Rams won the A Division Zone Eight Championship in Guelph on August 19 sweeping the best of five series with three straight vie tones over Guelph I Rams look the first game han 124 at Foot ball League with a win over Plus Welding on Sunday at Georgetown District High School keeping them undefeated so far this season Longhorns which had been in second for much of the year dropped its second game in a row losing 27 to and In other games Meznic Electric zapped 320 and squeaked by The Glen In the first game of the day and M got off to a quick start with an interception by Brad who ran it in for a touchdown came right back with a major by Paul Allison and the convert by Dave Patterson gave the team a 76 lead and went ahead briefly when Brad Finucan came through with six more points but then Bill Taylor connected for a touchdown and the single from Patterson made it 1412 for Longhorns The defence of Longhorns started to slip in the second half with M and scoring two touchdowns to earn the win First Mike Hurley got one of the big scores followed up by a two point convert by Finucan and then Stew Hirst pulled in the other major rolled over in the next match sconng 17 points in the first half and 15 in the second Jeff s feet earned the most individual points booting three singles and a field goal before running in a convert Gary Stu Steve Grossman and Hal Hulme each had touchdowns In the closest game of the day Oldtimers struck for points in the first half managing to hold off The Glen for a win Point scorers for were unavailable at press time JTawgs dominated Plus Welding in the final match with Mike Delguidise catching two point converts on touchdowns by Wilson and Linus Stasiuhs in the first Dave Clemens in tercepted a pass early in the se cond half for a touchdown Plus Welding s Weir got six points before Alain Pel lard touchdown finished things up In the last week of regular season play on September will try to break up undefeated string of vie tones The quarterfinals are the following week followed by the semi finals on September and the championship game on September 29
