Ontario Baseball Association championships In order to make it to the OBA championships in Kingsville Georgetown had to get past in a best of three winner takes all series Georgetown took the series two games to one even though had the home town advantage In the first game on August Georgetown defeated in seven innings Jose Mora was outstanding as pitcher Mora pit died the entire game facing batters and gave up only six hits over seven innings striking out 12 opponents while allowing no walks on the day Offensively the second was a big one for Georgetown Shane Leslie got hit by a pitch to start the inning Later Joe Stevens doubled in two runs and Josh singled m one run Georgetown also scored two unearned runs for a total of five Georgetown added another Tin in the fifth to bnng the score to over Alliston Mora got to first on a hit and stole for the run The Georteto i hats were silent again until e seventh in ing The leadoff batter Doug Shepparri ranked out a triple followed Shane Leslies RBI single Steve Onopnjenko ed in another run Both Mora and grounded out in the inning but thej cashed in one run each bringing the final score to 93 The second game of the series was played in Georgetown on August but Georgetown came up short of a by a score of After their win Georgetown looked a little flat during the first three innings of play and Alliston capitalized on Georgetown sluggish per By the time the boys got back on track the damage was already done and the score was 50 for Alliston Georgetown only allowed Alliston one run after the third in ning but the deficit was too great for them to overcome Georgetown s loss meant that the series would have to go to a third and deciding game The winner of the game of the series would be Kingsville bound on the to tag and steal after a fly ball was hit Josh chased down a long fly ball hit to centre making an outstan ding over the shoulder catch while on the run Head Coach Boyd Hoddinott believes that the Bantam team has an excellent chance of taking it all in the OBA finals in Kingsville The six assistant coaches Shawn Mitton Mike Ross Harvey Green Andy Williams Craig Chantler have put in a lot of
