the HERALD- Wednesday September 18 1991 Business Page Varian open house Last Saturday Vanan Canada on River Drive in Georgetown had an Open Home for its employees their families and friends as well as neighbors key suppliers representatives of local industry government and other invited guests The Open House was attended by employees and their family and friends and imately 100 invited guests Wanda Komorowski Open House Organizer reports that the Open House was a resounding success Displays were set up throughout the sq ft facility highlighting the products made at Varian as well as many of the initiatives that Varian is embarking on to in crease its global com pctiti veness Booths which showcased many of Varian s high technology products were staff by volunteers who explained how the products worked and how they were used Also on display were many of Varian s newest products which are still under development at the River Drive facility The more athletically minded guests were able to sharpen their skills at Vanan s in house squash court weight lifting and fitness facility In addition to in house displays a number of community cies including Child Find the Board of Education the Halton Board of Health and were also present All visitors received a number of gifts and mementos and a draw for a total of 15 door prizes was also held Joe Caldarelli the President of Varian Canada Inc indicated that Varian has these open houses once every few years to give all employees an ty to bring their families and show them where they work and the changes that have taken place in the last few years and also to give other Halton Hills residents an opportunity to see what goes on at Vanan Approximately 300 employees are located in the Georgetown area Three year old Clar Long and her grandfather varian employee Norm Long checked out a Medical Ray Generator on display at Canada on River Drive in Georgetown during the company open house held last Saturday Varlan manufacturing manager Jim Fallow was also on hand to meet approximately employees and their families who turned up at the event Herald Photo Main Street South Downtown Georgetown 8731470 OSBORNE DECOR Georgetown Location Only 236 Guelph Street Georgetown STORE HOURS MondayFriday am pm Saturday am 6 p Sunday CLOSED
