team has started the season in impressive fashion and look to be solid con tenders for this year Halton championship This past weekend at the sityofGuelph the team took part in a team tournament and placed third out of five teams in their pool They advanced to the B flight semi finals and lost a close game to West Elgin High School According to coach Bob McKay the team played very well during this tournament with Baker and John Jicklng having out standing performances in the weekend competition During league competition last week the Rebels put m solid per formances in victories over C High School at EC Milton on Sept 16 and Acton High School at Acton High School Sept IS In both contests the team won the first and third games of best of three competitions Game stars last week for the Rebels were Ryan Brain and Matt ve been positively en couraged explained coach McKay about his team performance so far We re a relatively young team this year five of our nine players could in fact still be playing junior ball However their development in the last weeks has been in credible McKay says because the team is so young he will try to bring them along gradually and will not make any unrealistic expectation yet The senior Rebels were second in Halton Region last season and won the championship the year before Arnies and Burns face off in ladies football final By Herald Special
