finals promised to be exciting and they were As all 4 teams were strong and determined to win the out come was left hanging until the last possible minute In both games Green vs Bellamy s Restaurants and Realty vs Butcher Shop they went into overtime and the winning goals were scored in the last few minutes All teams are to be commended for their efforts and improve ment dunng the season Finals The Green Team met with Butcher Shop for a hard won victory While the Green team won it was not without a hard battle Both teams played excep tionally well and the game once again went into overtime SCHOOL TREVOR ELINESKY an 0 A C student scored tour touchdowns and ran for 210 yardr during the senior football team s game against Loyola Friday Sept JENNY RYAN an 0 A C student led the senior girl s basketball team to two victories last week against Oakville Trafalgar and Milton District High School ACTON HIGH SCHOOL STEVE BOTTERO a grade 10 student had strong performances dunng the junior volleyball team s games against White Oaks and Milton District and was called upon to help the senior boy team last week when they were short of players SHARY a grade nine student led the junior girl s basket ball team to a 31 win over White Oaks last week scoring points AA Minor Atom Hockey M and Pro Sports flatten Flamboro The Georgetown and M Pro Sports Minor Atom hockey clubs played a great game and beat the visiting Flamboro squad 61 on Sunday Sept 29 The game was highlighted by Matt Hotham hat trick Ryan Bobor s two goals and Ryan Carter outstanding play in net From the hometown point of view the game started out at a slow pace Flamboro opened the scoring at 35 of the first period Brent had a great rush dunng his first shift but failed to score Good defensive play by Brian Stuttard Jason Hayes Brent McCIung and newcomer Michael Lowe kept the score at 10 at the end of the first period It t until halfway through the second when Matt Hotham got his first of three goals to get the team flying He was assisted by Ryan Bobor and Brian Stuttard Within 30 seconds Ryan Bobor scored to take the lead assisted by Matt With just a little more than a minute left in the second period Roddy scored He was assisted by Matt and Brian Stuttard Brian made a great pass to start the play into motion While shorthanded in the second period Jason Campbell Larocque both had good scoring opportunities In the third period Matt scored his second and third goals of the game at 10 18 assisted by Roddy Heinz and at assisted by Jason Campbell Ryan Bobor finished off the team s scoring with a nice backhand shot at 2 of the third period It was assisted by Josh Travers Ryan Carter made several good saves especially one where he slid across the goal mouth The team played well defensive ly Good back checking prevented a goal in the third period when Flamboro beat a 3 on break away and our defence forced them to shoot wide Trevor Cash s tenacious check ing kept the team off balance
