their Citizenship and Legislature meeting at United Church on Trafalgar Road with 23 members present Our guest speaker was Provincial Member of Mr Noel Duignan He said that no briefing books were left by the former government They only feed certain informa tion to new members Old in formation was shredded Mr is on the Precinct Com mittee which is working toward the year 1993 which is the Centennial of Queens Park While looking over the condi tion of the building for needed repairs a secret room was found which held many ancient muskets and they found another secret room with no easy access to it Mr is on the Legislative Family Committee and the Placing Committee He said his government is interested in a recovery program They cant let small farms disappear The farmers need a decent price for their commodities such as wheat There could be some cuts in the Health Budget profes sions are now regulated under the new Health Act He mentioned the streetcars the Dome the balanced operating budget capital and operating expenses Job creation is one of their main objectives He brought us brochures on How our laws are made and 2 Queens Park and the gift of lapefpins At the Georgetown Fair Ashgrove got first on the Womens Institute Display The committee were Norma Alex ander and Bird The Milton Fair Display is entitled Pioneer Thanksgiving with Mary Jane and Elizabeth on the Committee Pat Stark gave a report on the District Annual and Verna Bird gave a report on the Road Signs In October there is a Short Course for leaders on Wardrobe Wizardry Our leaders Marion Patterson and Elizabeth Wilson will go to Barry Hill At Milton Fair Education Day Pat Stark will be a Volunteer manning the I booth Bird and Mary Wilson will bake tea biscuits for the booth The Institute Area Convention will be held at Arthur on October and 17 with Mary Jane Wingfield as the delegate and Gwen Brander as Hospital Auxiliary fleamarket ByBEVGOSS Georgetown Hospital Auxiliary What a summer Meetings of the Auxiliary were discontinued over the summer to allow us to enjoy the lovely warm weather but all our other activities have carried on Plans are all systems go for our FIsa Market on October Thats a Saturday Time is from til 12 Look for us In the Hospital Courtyard but if its raining snowing or cool we will be holding it in the recreation room Georgetown and area residents have always given us great sup port in the past and we hope to see you on the 5th We thank you for that support Five auxiliary members at tended the Hospital Auxiliary Association of Ontarios Region Pall Conference on Tuesday September 17 Held at Norfolk General Hospital the Conference includ ed a film and speaker on the sub ject of Disease and the services available the alternate voting delegate On November 24 the Womens Institute will celebrate their 90th birthday at Brookeville November 7 will be Womens Day at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto A carload or two from plan to attend There will be a hot meal at the Cafe Royal followed by the guest speaker Mavis Wilson a Fashion Show time to look at the Fairs exhibits and at 7 m attend the HorseShow A thankyou note was received from Womens Place for the gift of muffins and cookies from I Recipes for Meat Fish and Poultry for A Basic Childrens Cookbook for the Club will be looked after by Gwen Brander A 4H Club Milk Makes It Bet ter will start on Monday September 23 at Hillcrest There will be two clubs with leaders Carol Brownndge and Eller also Gwen and Patten The book Patient Beware which gives pertinent informa tion re our Health Course of last Spring on Women and Cancer is on sale at in Milton A Bridal Shower miscell aneous will be held October 2 at 7 30 at Hillcrest Church for Mane Hartley bride tobe of ken McNabb We extend thanks to our
