1 Hunter shot Regional Police report an Acton hunter was hit in the arm by a pellet that ricocheted from his hunting partners rifle Nov 5 while the two were hunting deer near 25 and 25 Side road in Acton Police say the two were walking parallel to each other but were separated by a dense clump of in the wooded area One hunter observed a deer come from his right cross his path and shot at the deer believing his partner to be well clear of the area After shooting he told police he heard his pamer say he was hit A police in vestigation revealed one of the pellets from the suspects gun ricoiiheted and hit the victim in the forearm causing superficial skin in juries No charges have been laid Stolen welder A construction company engaged in work at 22 Sideroad and 7 reported to police that a Miller 2000 portable welder was stolen from the site between Nov and The portable machine was parked at the construction site and police believe unknown culprits hooked the machine to the back of a vehicle and drove away machine is described as having a black frame 15 Inch white wall tires and is blue in color Evidence at scene Police are continuing their in vestigation of a theft at Holy Cross Separate School on Maple Avenue in Georgetown between Nov 14 based on evidence found at the scene Police will not reveal what the evidence is which was left behind when unknown culprits stole an air conditioning unit from a lower story window Troublesome boy An Acton couple reported to police a neighborhood boy who they say is always causing trouble was responsible for smashing their front door with a rock Friday night Police say the boy was a couple of local children and throwing rocks at the complainants door One rock smashed the glass part of the door causing Bodily harm A 17yearold Georgetown youth has been charged with assault causing bodily harm in relation to a fight at Georgetown Cinemas Friday night Police say a fight broke out between two males after the accused allegedly spat on the victims girlfriend A fight ensued which was broken up by an usher at the theatre The fight continued outside the theatre when the ac cused allegedly punched the victim in the face causing him to fall against a window ledge The victim was taken to hospital with a black eye and cuts to his eye which required stitches on the eyelid and under the eye accused also required stitches to his hand The accused will appear in Milton court Dec Roll over A Nerval woman was taken to Milton Hospital with minor injuries after she rolled her car at Line north of 5 Side road Nov 7 say police The woman was southbound on 5th Line when an animal crossed her path and she attempted to stop but skidded into the ditch and rolled her 1990 Chevrolet sedan demolishing the car Mangled mechanical van Plumbing and mechanical parts were strewn all over at Heritage after a Honda Civic driven by Bryan Gil more of Georgetown struck an AGE Mechanical Ltd van driven by Keith Caims of Georgetown Monday at noon Mr Cairns was rushed to Georgetown District Memorial Hospital by Halton Hills ambulance where his con dition was unknown at press time Caledon OPP say the accident occurred when Mr GHmore who was continues The process of laying charges against robbery suspect Hermann Beier has been slowed as 11 police forces unite to determine if he may also be responsible for numerous other bank robberies across South western Ontario Detective Sergeant Michael of the Halton Regional Police criminal investigation bureau said 11 police forces in cluding Halton Regional Peel Regional and Lin dsay Metro Orangeville York and Peel OPP are planning on laying charges against the 50yearold Alliston man who was shot down following a police chase Oct 31 Sgt Eacrett said police suspect Mr Beier began robbing banks in April They also know Mr Briers three businesses in cluding a budgie exporting business a karate instruction business and pool hall are all ex periencing financial difficulty Though Halton police havent of ficially laid charges they are con sidering charging Mr Beier with robbery use of a firearm wearing a disguise during the commission of an indictable offence and using ex plosives Constable Alan Stennet was shot at five times by the robbery suspectbut Police arent considering laying at tempted murder charges because the exchange of gunfire took place in Mr is suspected of robbing three backs Oct 31 including the Royal Bank on St in Georgetown He led police on a lengthy pursuit firing at them from the crest of hills and was eventually run into the ditch by an OPP cruiser in A substantial amount of money was recovered from the stolen suspect vehicle along with a 22 automatic gun a 357 magnum revolver and a 44 calibre revolver all of which are restricted weapons Transformer catches fire Halton Hills firefighters respon ded to four calls over the weekend including a call Saturday evening from Side Road where a hydro transformer was on fire Halton Hills firefighters requested the assistance of Hydro workers but before they were able to arrive the fire had burnt out Firefighter to two calls con cerning rubbish fires over the weekend one Friday afternoon on Calvert Drive in Georgetown where ashes from a fire place had been put in a plastic bag and dumped in a blue box and the other Saturday af ternoon on Poplar Ave in Acton where a brush and graph fire star ted in a nearby revene No damage wa caused in either case The only other call came from Robert Little School in Acton Satur day afternoon when a contractor working in the school
