play The team will be competing the McGregor Cup Midget on November 30th at and look forward to playing up a division in the Juvenile McGregor Cup on Dec The Midget team is players strong made up of girls born in 19767778 Their first was the Midget Provincial Cup on 9th and they finished oerall The team spent this last weekend in Point Claire Que and faired well win rung the consolation champion ship The round robin play saw coaches Clair Coifing Gordon Gray don and Stacy Wilson plewood the lineups to get a good look at all of their players in action The team split their matches 15 16 14 156 12 15 14 In consolation play the Selects certainly got the feel of the action and won all matches 15 17 151 156 and the final was 5 The Peel Select A team playing in the same tournament also had a good day The team is coached by Christine Craig and John Hnatiw The day started by meeting Toronto Jrs and split ting the matches The Scarborough Comets went down to Peel 152 15 4 and the Water- down Raiders were able to defeat Peel 11 15 and 13 in an ex cellent match The team then went on to a tie breaker against Toronto winning 15 to hold 2nd place in the pool The Selects met Scarborough Eclipse in the semi finals winning 15 7 The gold medal match saw the Selects playing the Raiders in close games of 15 ll 15 and They finished with silver overall Holly Sones of D H S playing middle and Tracy Fowler of Bishop Reding in power were able to contribute well with their experience Both Juvenile teams are playing this Saturday Nov again at Scarborough College in the Juvenile Provincial Cup The Peel Selects Volleyball Club was initiated in 1985 to pro vide an avenue for highly com petitive volleyball to the many talented girls In both Halton and Peel Regions The Club has a high rate of success both and nationally and many former players have gone on to Provincial and National teams as well as receiving athletic funding for post secondary education in the United States The teams
