The position is for a two-year term. Weinberger began her teaching career in 1976. With the Halton board she has worked in classrooms from Kindergarten to Grade 8, in guidance and as a teacher librarian. fShe joined the Halton local o ETFO in 1998 and was its president from 2002 to 2008. Speaking to more than 800 indi- viduals at ETFOs annual meeting, Weinberger said the organizations work in professional learning and equity and social justice is key. Whether in our classrooms, with First Nations communities, or with our international partners, these efforts establish us as professionals who understand and work to eradi- cate the impacts of marginalization that affect our classrooms, she said in a press release. There is still much work to be done as we head into a provincial election. Our education platform, Building Better Schools, is a rea- soned and reasonable plan for public education in this province. We are focusing on grassroots participation to help elect an education-friendly government and candidates so that we can help ensure the success of all students.
