Police chase ends downtown A 23-year-old man of no fixed address is facing 14 criminal charges after leading Halton police on a brief car chase, early Wednesday morning, while driving a stolen car. The incident began at around 5 a.m. when police observed a suspected impaired driver swerving all over the street in the area of North Service Road and Trafalgar Road. Police said when the cruiser attempted to stop the vehicle the vehicle would not stop and a brief police pursuit ensued. During the chase, police said, the driver inten- tionally struck two police cruisers with his vehicle in an effort to get away. The car chase ended when the driver left the vehicle in the area of Trafalgar Road and Church Street and attempted to flee on foot. Police made an arrest following a brief foot chase. Chris Hutton has been charged with six counts of criminal code disqualified driving, two counts of assault with a weapon (the vehicle), assault to resist arrest, two counts of mischief, possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
