On Tuesday, police responded to a complaint about a man hiding in a stall of a womans public wash- room in a Trafalgar Road medical centre. Police allegedly found the man still hiding in the womens wash- room stall. Investigating officers say the man waited more than an hour in the washroom stall for women to enter the stalls beside him. He would then peer at the women from underneath the stall wall while they used the facilities. Police allege the accused has done the same thing at other womens washrooms in Oakville. Christopher Earl Williams, 35, of Oakville has been charged with voyeurism and mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Milton court on Sept. 27. By Nathan Howes OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF It was an early start Thursday for Sheridan Colleges support staff as they picked up their signs and headed for the picket lines. Contract talks broke off between OPSEU and the College Employer Council (CEC) around midnight yes- terday, and support staff from Ontarios 24 colleges went on strike. Picket lines went up at more than 100 campuses across the province. The OPSEU bar- gaining team received a 77 per cent strike mandate vote on July 14. Jay Jackson, president of OPSEU Local 245, said there currently is no plan or set dates for the College Employer Council (CEC) and OPSEU to return to the bargaining table. I suspect they will be reaching out maybe next week to set up some more talks, or the week after. It is what it is and thats the only way things are going to get settled, if they get back together, said Jackson. Despite the strike, orientation activities scheduled for Sept. 2 are proceeding as planned at Sheridan.
