A whopping $32,000 was raised for the churchs building fund by the tourney held at the Royal Woodbine Golf Club and $3,000 toward the hospital. The latter is just one installment toward a total $25,000 pledge the church has made to the new hospital. This year, St. Josephs Golf Tournament has partnered with Oakville Hospital Foundation (OHF) and has pledged $25,000 over the coming years, said golf commit- tee chair Steve Kuziw. Michelle Kerby and Caitie Spears, from the OHF Community Event Team, were on hand to accept St. Joe's support. Funds were raised via sponsorships, donations, raffles, silent and live auctions and a sellout on golf registrations 144. Under the direction of Father Michael Loza, pastor of St. Josephs; Fred Shlapak, building committee chair and construc- tion manager Santoro Construction, com- pletion of the new church, heritage centre and child care centre is anticipated to be December of this year. At present, the brickwork and windows are just about completed.
