There are really strong performers around me. Its great to get to surround yourself with that because you have to rise to that level or you go home, he said. This is a full on musical and it has one of the biggest dance numbers of any musical. Its pretty cool I get to use that skill and my acting. Its kind of a combination of every- thing Ive learned, all in one. Though it has not been announced, there is a possibility the show could come to Toronto as well as travel overseas. Wagner said he feels fortunate to be a part of the musical, but wants people to know that opportunities are out there. I came from Oakville and here I am. This is possible for pretty much anyone, he said. Theres opportunity as long as people go out and do it. I think a lot of people are scared to take that chance and audition. The worst thing that can happen is they say no. Furthermore, he added there is a lot of support in U.S. schools for international students, especially for Canadians. Continued from page 23 Oakvilles Sue Grant knows there is little exposure about art that can be worn. Now, she and her fellow artists have received a boost from the Ontario Trillium Foundation that will help them expand and promote the fifth annual and future Just for Us Originals shows, or as they call it, the wearable art show. The grant is for $25,700 over two years. Grant has co-organized the event since its shoestring-budget early days. The funding from the Trillium Foundation has been a tremendous affirma- tion of all the hard work weve put into Just for Us Originals during the past five years, Grant said, in a news release. This years show takes place on Sept. 23-24 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. It will feature works done by 40 Ontario art- ists. Admission is free. The show started in 2007 when organizers realized that many Canadian artists who spe- cialize in wearable art are not receiving the exposure they deserve. The funding will help the organizers increase exposure. They bought permanent signage and hired a professional publicist. For a full show schedule and to learn more, visit www.justforusoriginals.com.
