The hour-long concert will take place at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts in the afternoon. It was designed specifically for a younger audience and will introduce the youths to different sections of the orchestra and to the thrill of hearing a live performance of classi- cal music. The symphony has put on similar concerts in the past, featuring only certain sections of the orchestra. There will be an informative and interac- tive dialogue by Michael Brown. A few volun- teers will be invited to come up on the stage and sit with the musicians and one of them will be able to conduct the orchestra. The concert starts at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and $7 for children. The Centre is located at the corner of Navy Street and Lakeshore Road. SUBMITTED PHOTO Bright Future The blues-rock trio of the Conor Gains Band is making its return to Oakville with a concert at The Moonshine Caf The band, which gave previous perfor- mances the venue earlier this year, including one in the summer, will take the stage on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. The band is led by 18-year-old Conor Gains. The band has performed at the 2011 Montreal International Jazz Festival and had shows at The Rex in Toronto, Sauble Beach, Burlington Ribfest and Southside Shuffle in Mississauga.
