By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF With election day only a week away, Oakville- based Citizens for Clean Air (C4CA) is ask- ing each party to make clear its stand on the issue of b u i l d i n g power plants. A year after the Liberal p r o v i n c i a l government cancelled the Oakville natural gas-fired power plant project, and days after the Mississauga plant was stopped, the citizens' group is calling for all leaders to commit to flegislation governing the placement o power plants. C4CA added legislation is necessary to protect the health and safety of communities across Ontario. Right now, theres a lot of discus- sion, a lot of quotes in the papers from different candidates and what were asking were going to the leaders to say make it very clear, whats your position, said C4CA chairman, Frank Clegg. Dorina Rico, the resident of the Bronte home, wants to know why. Why would someone do this? she asked. The wolf sculpture was one of several pieces in a perma- nent exhibit on the grounds of the estate, which is the Oakville Museum. That exhibit features three life-sized wolves and a moose, created by, and donated to the Town of Oakville, by a pair of local artists nearly two years ago. Sometime overnight Saturday, the wolf statue was removed from the museum on Navy Street and transported to the Bronte residence where it was placed on the front door step. I went out for a walk in the morning and saw it there when I opened the door, Rico said. I was freaking out. I started to yell. I was thinking, Oh my God, what is this? While in transport, the wolf lost one of its legs, which the museum staff found. f Rico said the idea that someone would transport the wol such a long way and place it on her doorstep is scary. g p gSee Nothin a e 2 SUBMITTED PHOTO Man gets six years in jail for Comeau's stabbing C4CA demands answers For rules on siting new power plants See C4CA page 8See Nothing page 4 Bradley Todorovich Frank Clegg
