Also, his fellow cast mates help improve his own on-screen ability. Working with such great actors and with people whove done a lot before and people who are so naturally amazing on what they do is awesome because working with them makes you be a better actor, he said. Though the show is on Friday evenings, when people his age like to go out of the house, McLeod said his friends have no excuse for not watching the show as it is aired in reruns frequently. Its a good show and its great that I get to watch it over and over again, he said with a laugh. Its really cool for me because see- ing the whole process that we went through throughout all those months come together finally and to see it up on the screen, is really cool. Theyve done a really good job with it. Having gone to elementary school in Oakville at both St. Bernadette and St. Andrew Catholic schools, he was accepted into the music-theatre program in Etobicoke, where he is in his final year. He intends to go right into the working world out of high school as an actor and work on his music as well. Hes been writing music since the age of 12 and is recording pop and R&B music as a solo artist. With this new TV show of mine, it will give me the exposure I need to make sure people see what Ive been working on, he said. SUBMITTED PHOTO Concert to help restore grand piano St. Pauls United Church is hosting a series of concerts, beginning Sunday, Oct. 2, in the hope of raising funds to restore its baby grand piano. Three years ago, the Steinway piano was donated to the church by the family mem- bers of Oakvilles Lady Baillie. The churchs concert committee has undertaken the task of raising funds for the restoration of the instrument with a concert series titled The Restoration Series. The four-concert series begins with the Oct. 2 concert, titled Music for Minors. It will be an interactive show for children with an admission price of $10 per family. The series will feature three more con- certs in the coming months. However, those shows will require individual ticket pur- chases of $15 per adult and children under 12 at $5. There is also a subscription to the three concerts for $38 per adult or $10 per child. The future concerts are as follows: Nov. 27, titled A Classy, Sassy and a Little Bit Jazzy Christmas 5 Feb. 19, titled Wind and Fire featuring violin and trumpets April 22, titled Broadway . . . SiriusXM Canada along with the SCool Life Fund announced they are giving away the money to schools across Canada through the SriusXM Instrument Fund. Each year, SCool Life Fund supports drama, recreation, extra-curricular, arts, music and sports (DREAMS) in Canadian elementary schools, while the SiriusXM Fund aims to refresh existing music pro- grams and develop new programming for students through the funding of instru- ments, sheet music, instrument supplies and uniforms.
