In their first tournament at the rep level, the Rangers went undefeated to win the recent Markham Waxers Early Bird Tournament. Oakville won all five of its games by a combined score of 38-3. Though the Rangers routed their first four oppo- nents, they did need to sweat out a 2-1 victory over Barrie in the championship game. The Hornets defeated Etobicoke 3-1, Markham- Stouffville 7-1 and Oshawa 6-1 in round-robin action, then edged Aurora 2-1 to qualify for the championship game.
