All-Star Big Band in town The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts will be in full swing with music from the '30s, '40s and '50s on two upcoming weekends. The Toronto All-Star Big Band (pictured at left) will perform at The Centre on two Sundays (Oct. 16, 23) featuring big-band music from the swing era. The band is a not for profit organization that gives students an opportunity to perform in the community and features members from the surrounding Toronto area, including Oakville. There are 22 musicians, all aged between 15 and 22, playing piano, guitar, drums, bass, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet and trombone. There is also a fivepiece vocal ensemble.
