Crash ended pursuit By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is looking for witnesses after a 27-year old woman was shot following a police pursuit in Oakville Saturday night. The woman was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the pursuit that drew to a close on North Service Road East, near Third Line, when a vehicle struck a police cruiser. The pursuit began around 9 p.m. when Halton officers located two vehicles, believed stolen from the AMC theatre parking lot at Winston Churchill Boulevard, near the Oakville Water Treatment Plant on North Service Road in the Glen Abbey area. Police reported to the SIU that the vehicles attempted to flee, at which point the officers opened fire. One of the two drivers fled eastbound along North Service Road, but collided with a police cruiser near Third Line.
