17 · Friday, October 28, 2011 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Volunteers help make Santa's visit a special day In less than three weeks, Santa Claus will be riding his sleigh through the streets of Oakville in this year's parade. Joining Santa Claus for the parade's 63rd anniversary will be one of the most exciting line-ups in the history of the parade -- schools, floats, bands, and costumed entertainers representing numerous local businesses, service clubs, and community groups. This year's theme is 'All I Want for Christmas' and the anticipation grows as we hear rumors of some creative and unique entries this year. Once again Mrs. Claus will be leading the Oakville Santa Claus Parade as the Grand Marshall. One lucky child who wins the colouring contest will ride with Mrs. Claus in the beautifully decorated Cinderella carriage throughout the parade route. Children still have time to enter the colouring contest, as the deadline is Nov. 4. Get your entry forms in fast. Contest forms are available on-line at www.oakvillesantaclausparade.ca. Children aged five to 10 will have the chance to win the seat beside Mrs. Claus, and runner-up will ride in a window in Santa's float. Children ages three and four years will have the chance to win a special prize just for their age group. Claus Parade is always looking oakvillesantaclausparade.ca.
