Beloved husband of Daphne, Bill was a dedicated and loving father to Bill Jr. (Naomi Cohen), and Lindsay (Kevin Deely) and was weeks away from becoming a grandfather for the first time, something he would have cherished. He courageously battled the ravages of Parkinson's disease for over 7 years, showing a near endless amount of strength, dignity and determination. His warm sense of humour and immense love of people held true to the end and was an inspriation to all who knew him. Bill had the good fortune to spend his life with his first love and wife of 39 years; together they built a family that would be the centre of Bill's life. His devotion to his family leaves a legacy that will enable him to live on in their memories. His love of golf will live on in his son and his pride in being an Irish-Canadian in his daughter. But most importantly, he taught that committment, tenacity and love conquered all. Bill was loved and respected by his many friends and extended family members and will be deeply missed. His family would like to thank all of those who so dedicatingly cared for him at Wyndym Manor Nursing H o m e a n d O a k v i l l e Tr a f a l g a r Hospital. Mary was born on May 14, 1918 in Pembrokeshire, Wales, the eldest daughter of David and Amelia (Warry) Davies. In 1942 she set aside war work for marriage to a dashing Canadian army captain and motherhood. After coming to Canada in 1946, she made a home for her family in the Quebec mining community of Noranda before settling in Oakville. A great reader and conversationalist, Mary was well informed and never at a loss for words. She was an active member of the Oakville Opera Guild, Ontario Orchid Society, American Orchid Society and Oakville Golf Club for many years. Mary will be fondly remembered by family and friends both here and abroad.
