"We are really excited, because of the alignment philosophically of the two organizations," said Patrick Chetcuti, President and Chief Operating Officer of First Canadian Title at the partnership launch Monday in Oakville. "We're in the real estate industry to begin with, and what a great way to give back to the real estate community in which we work and live." HFHC was founded in 1985 and is a national, non-profit, faith-based organization that mobilizes volunteers and community partners to build affordable housing and promote home ownership in an effort to break the cycle of poverty. HFHC is a member of Habitat for Humanity International. First Canadian Title was founded in 1991. It is based in Oakville and is part of the First American Title Insurance Company. The new partnership between FCT and HFHC has three components. The first being a cash donation of $81,000 presented by Chetcuti to HFHC President and CEO David Hughes. "I couldn't be more excited," said Hughes. "It's all about providing peace of mind to families who Great selection of genuine leather sofa, loveseat & recliner Sale Priced Sofas starting at 1999 $1299 Authentic reclaimed solid wood dining table & 6 genuine leather chairs Old world flair with today's function BARRIE ERSKINE / OAKVILLE BEAVER $ CHIPPING IN: On hand for the $81,000 cheque presentation were (l-r) Ward 3 Councillor Keith Bird, Patrick Chetcuti, president First Canadian Title, David Hughes, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity and Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn. have a sense of hope now. That is what Title Insurance is all about, it's that peace of mind, so I think it's a great fit, we are in a similar industry, serving the same kinds of families so it's a natural marriage, we couldn't be more excited." Another component of the partnership will have FCT employees volunteering their time in the actual construction of 10 homes across Canada during 2007. "We get the opportunity across the country, to participate in actual construction of the homes," said Chetcuti. "The really neat part about that for this company is, it gives us the opportunity to involve our people directly in the community, and we have tremendous people working for First Canadian Title and we're just excited to give them the opportunity to give back to the community." Along with the donation and contribution of time to the building of homes, First Canadian Title will also provide title insurance to all the homes built by the HFHC throughout the year. The idea for a partnership between the two companies came about six months ago when HFHC was involved in a construction project in Toronto. "It just started with a discussion through another partner organization," said Hughes. "In fact that's the way a lot of this happens, one friend tells two friends and they tell two friends and so on and so on like the commercial says." 2999 instock now $ 1799 Beautiful Queen Size Sleigh Bed 100% solid wood, this traditional design will fit with everyone's style. $ 1499 Appleby Line special offer Matching pieces available $ 799 Best Values Since 1977 Mon.-Thurs. & Sat. 10:00-5:30; Fri. 10:00.-9:00; Sat. 10:00 -5:30; Sun. 12-4 KEEPING SENIORS INFORMED Our LivingWell Events are Open to the Public EVERYDAY LOW MORTGAGE RATES.
